Watch the Chicago Air and Water Show from Tall Ship Windy
An experience you don’t want to miss! Chicago’s famous Air and Water Show aboard the 148′ Tall Ship Windy is truly a magical event. While the official schedule has yet to be announced, it’s anticipated that the US Navy Blue Angels will return again in 2024 to wow audiences — along with appearances by the USAF F-35A Lightning II Demo, Michael Goulian in his acrobatic Extra 330SC, Rob Holland in the MXS-RH, Susan Dacy in her Super Stearman “Big Red” and antique military aircraft from the Warbird Heritage Foundation.
Also, watch for the US Army Golden Knights parachute teams, the US Navy Leap Frogs parachute team, as well as other crowd-pleasing stunts by the AeroShell Aerobatic Team and a performance by the Chicago Fire Department Air/Sea Rescue team.
When you purchase tickets to watch Chicago’s Air and Water Show aboard Tall Ship Windy, you’ll leave our dock and motor to center stage to enjoy 3 hours of the best air show viewing – if water conditions allow. Please note that the official schedule has yet to be announced, and it is typical that the show length will be longer than your onboard experience. Tall Ship Windy will return to our dock by 2pm. This is an “Air Show” event, and we may not sail.

All seating on board Tall Ship Windy is first come, first served. Guests with VIP Captains Boarding tickets board first before General Admission ticket holders. A limited number of VIP tickets are available and are likely to sell out. Board first to choose your seat on one of Windy’s three decks: the forward, middle or aft.
All VIP Captains Boarding tickets also include trip insurance. On special sails like this one, trip insurance allows you to change or cancel your reservation and receive a refund up to 24 hours before your scheduled sail time. General Admission tickets on special sails without trip insurance may not change or cancel a reservation.

- RAIN OR SHINE EVENT: In the unlikely event that your tour is cancelled, you may exchange your ticket for another day or receive a refund.
- No-shows will not be eligible for rescheduling or refund. Guests must arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time or risk forfeiture.
- The Captain reserves the right to postpone a sail for up to 15 minutes in the case of passing inclement weather.
